What I Wish I Was Doing

There is what I wish I was doing, and what I actually am doing. I am so busy with the semester winding down. So many projects are due. I wish that I could just sew and blog and do all of the amazing things that I am looking forward to doing this summer. I wish that I could just be done with school and my job, and move on to my career and doing what I really want to do. It gets to be a bit frustrating at times. In other news, I will be presenting my capstone a week from today so I am super nervous, yet still a bit excited.
I may not be online much this week since I have to finish up my projects, but I have so many DIY projects coming up which I can't wait to share with you when I am done!

Bridal Shower

I wore this outfit to a bridal shower earlier today. I wanted something that was dressy, but at the same time casual. I paired this dress with a sweater and some DIY bracelets and it was perfect. It was a great morning, but now I am off to take care of some homework, it is getting crazy busy now that the semester is winding down.

DIY: Floral Hair Combs

This project came about on Friday night, when I was looking for something to wear with my Easter dress. I knew that I wanted something involving flowers, and I remembered seeing some combs like this online, but wouldn't have time to order them for Sunday. So I went to the store and bought supplies for this DIY.
This project is super easy and you should have most of the supplies in your house. The supplies that you don't have should cost you about three dollars. Which means that you can have a great accessory for about three dollars and twenty minutes of your time.


For this project you will need:
-Two hair combs...these cost me a dollar
-Artificial flowers...these are baby's breath. You can spring for better
flowers, but on the cheap these cost me $2.19
-a glue gun
-Scissors


Basically all that you need to do is cut the flowers right at the stem, and glue them however you like on the comb. I found that by gluing the flowers all along the front, on the back, and then some on top gave it a full look. However, you can experiment with the placement to get it exactly how you want it. That's basically it. I ended up making two with my flowers. It was super easy and I got so many compliments on them when I wore them. I like to wear mine with milkmaid braids and tuck them each between the braids.

Week of Sunshine

It is so odd looking at these photos. I took these last week, but until taking my photos today I completely forgot about them. It is so strange looking at how warm it was since it was a bit chilly today, I had to wear jeans and long sleeves.
Not much has been happening this week, I have been doing homework, shopping, and getting ready for a craft show this weekend. It is getting super busy as I end the near of the semester, which means lots of homework. I have also been doing plenty of DIY projects, which is always fun. One of my projects was the necklace that I am wearing in this post.
